Please contact our service desk on 01362 821048
The schedule we have is 8 weekly and we will be in touch the week before to give site plenty of notice.
We say around 3 hours depending upon the size/make/model and extent of the maintenance, but we will try to minimise downtime as much as possible.
A copy of all service reports will be left on site, however should you require a copy of any documentation, please contact our service desk on 01362 821048 or email paperwork@falconcranes.co.uk
Alternatively, Falcon has developed an interactive website and mobile phone/tablet app called Falcon Online to give our customers direct access to safety-critical documentation at all times. Once a tower crane has been erected on-site, it is assigned to a customer and a job site.
Each customer will then be able to access erection and dismantling documentation such as RAMS, Site Inspections, and Grillage Certificates. As the project progresses, the Operator Weekly Timesheets and Daily / Weekly Checklists will be available, as well as Service Reports, Work Instructions, Test Certificates, and even invoices. It is a complete crane file at your fingertips. Please call our office to request login details for our Falcon App.

As an average, we allow 2-3 days for an installation operation, but this is not a guaranteed time scale as there are so many variables involved.
9.8 metres per second at the working height of the mobile crane.
We utilise a specialist company for this that gives us the wind speed for the mobile crane at its working height.
A minimum of one weeks’ notice is required to off-hire the crane, however this does not guarantee a dismantle date. If a road closure is required, the notice period is the same as that required to effect the road closure.
A tower crane is a tall, vertical structure used in the construction of tall buildings and other large developments. It consists of a base, mast, slewing unit, working arm (jib), counterweights, and an operator's cabin. The crane can lift heavy materials and transport them vertically and horizontally. The slewing unit allows the crane to rotate, the trolley or luffing mechanism adjusts the load's position, and the hoist mechanism raises or lowers items. As construction progresses, the crane's height can be adjusted using a climbing frame. Tower cranes are crucial for efficient high-rise construction, balancing heavy lifting with precise placement.
Tower cranes are essential for constructing high-rise buildings, skyscrapers, and other tall structures. They are also utilised in large-scale infrastructure projects like bridges, dams, and power plants. Their ability to lift heavy materials to significant heights and reach over obstacles makes them indispensable for projects where space is limited, vertical development is significant, or materials need precise placement across large distances. Additionally, tower cranes are often seen in large industrial sites and shipyards for assembling and moving bulky components.
Tower cranes offer superior height and reach capabilities compared to other crane types, making them ideal for constructing tall buildings. Their stationary nature allows for prolonged operation in a fixed location, ensuring consistent lifting power. Tower cranes have a smaller footprint relative to their reach, maximizing limited site space. Their precise control ensures accurate placement of materials, even at great heights or distances. Additionally, their design enables them to work in close proximity to the structure they're assisting, optimizing efficiency and safety on congested sites.
To determine the right tower crane size and capacity, consider the heaviest load you'll lift, the maximum radius required, and the height of the construction. Analyse the site's spatial constraints and nearby structures. Consult with our team of experts, sharing detailed project specs. We can advise on the optimal crane type and configuration. Regularly reviewing project phases ensures that the chosen crane remains suitable throughout construction.
Yes, operating a tower crane requires specialized training. Operators must undergo rigorous courses to understand crane mechanics, safety protocols, and on-site challenges. Upon completion, they typically need certification from relevant authorities or bodies. Continuous training updates ensure operators stay informed about best practices and emerging safety standards.
